Energy Safe Victoria (ESV) manages the registration of Electrical Spotters.
Registration lasts for three years and requires cardholders to maintain First Aid and CPR requirements. CPR qualifications need to be refreshed annually.
In order to renew registration every three years, the applicant must complete the spotters training with an approved Registered Training Organisation (RTO). Once the training is completed the RTO will register the student and ESV will provide the student with a new spotters’ card with an updated expiry date.
Due to COVID-19 (coronavirus) restrictions, many if not all training providers were limited or prevented from delivering training.
Spotters unable to complete required training were permitted to continue spotting if their registration had expired after the 16 May 2020.
Now that restrictions have eased, RTOs including those who offer the CPR and First Aid training are now fully operational and able to provide the spotter training and the required annual refresher training.
Therefore all spotters must complete any training they may have missed and ensure the currency of their spotters registration.
All training missed due to the COVID-19 restrictions and updating of spotters registrations must be completed by 30 June 2021.
