Ministerial decision on Electric Line Clearance Regulations

As Minister responsible for the Electricity Safety Act 1998, Lily D’Ambrosio, the Minister for Energy, Environment and Climate Change has recommended the making of the Electricity Safety (Electric Line Clearance) Regulations 2020 (the proposed Regulations), to replace the Electricity Safety (Electric Line Clearance) Regulations 2015, which expire on 28 June 2020.

In October 2019 a Regulatory Impact Statement (RIS) was and draft regulations were advertised for public comment. ESV received twenty submissions.

After consideration of the submissions and input from Energy Safe Victoria, the Minister has decided the Regulations should be made with amendments.
