Lineworker licensing

Energy Safe Victoria will introduce a new licensing regime for Lineworkers (including Cable Jointers) from 1 January 2021. The regime will increase ESV’s visibility of the industry to ensure Lineworkers have the minimum qualifications and experience required to work safely on distribution, transmission and traction networks.

Both new and existing Lineworkers need to register with ESV before 4 December 2020 to receive their first five-year licence on time and at no cost before the January deadline.

Distribution, Transmission and Traction Lineworkers (including Cable Jointers) will not be authorised to work without a licence after 1 January 2021, and fees may also apply for licence applications after this date.

Licensing of Lineworkers is a priority for the Victorian Government and will help the industry to maintain a safe and suitably qualified workforce.

Register now

Make sure you complete your licence registration before 4 December 2020 to get your first five-year licence on time and at no cost.
